Executive team

The day-to-day management of Peabody is delegated by the board members to the chief executive and the executive team.

Stephen Howlett
Chief executive
Joined Peabody in March 2004 from the Amicus Group where he was chief executive since the group was established in 1999. Prior to that he was chief executive of Swale Housing Association which founded the Amicus Group. Appointed to the Peabody Board on the 18 May 2011.

David Lavarack
Executive director, corporate services
Joined Peabody in March 2007 from Barclays Bank, where he held several senior posts, including Small Business Banking Director and Chief Operating Officer for the marketing and communications functions worldwide. David's has extensive experience in strategic change management and organisational development.

Stephen Burns
Executive director, new business 
Joined Peabody in 1998 and became director in July 2006. He has worked in community regeneration, training and employment since 1991 and was a director of a national training company from 1993 to 1997. Prior to 1991 Stephen was a computer professional involved in satellite and tele-communications.

Susan Hickey
Executive director, finance
Susan joined Peabody in February 2010 from Hastoe Housing Group, where she was director of resources, with responsibility for finance, IT, HR and other central functions. A qualified chartered accountant, Susan has a broad range of experience in accountancy and commerce, particularly in banking and mortgage finance markets.

Sandra Skeete
Executive director, customer services
Joined Peabody in September 2007. She was chief executive of Refugee Housing Association, a subsidiary of Metropolitan Housing Partnership, and has held managerial posts at ASRA and North British (now Places for People). Sandra is an outstanding housing professional, accustomed to working in high performing, customer focused organisations.
