The problem
The reason your web browser isn't very good at displaying these pages is because it was created a while back; during a time when there weren't very many controls over publishing standards. This meant designers had to use all sorts of code-trickery to get the desired effect. Today, however, we're a lot luckier: we've got the web standards project.
The resolution
You can upgrade your browser with ease. Just visit the following page and find the browser you like. Chances are that an update for the browser you're using now will be available, too. If you're on a slow connection to the internet, don't panic: most computer magazines will include CDs or DVDs with the latest browsers on them.
